Project Overview
Federation Square is the heart and soul of Melbourne. A modern piazza, home to major cultural attractions, world-class events, tourism experiences, restaurants, bars and specialty stores.
The Challenge
How do you breathe new life into Fed Square’s digital home? The new FedSquare.com needed to prioritise ease of use for users and administrators, and enable content to be syndicated across diverse digital touchpoints.
The Solution
An intuitive, responsive design ties in with Fed Square’s ‘digital first’ strategy. Using Wordpress as an API generator allows event and location content to be seamlessly integrated into onsite kiosks. It also enables visitors to create and access custom itineraries from any device, and print them out at the Fed Square information desk.
Desktop Environment
We added clean, responsive grid elements, adaptable content layouts and subtle hover effects; all compliant with AA accessibility standards.
Map-View
We used the custom Google API to offer a bespoke glimpse of Fed Square’s events, giving users a unique way to plan their next outing.
